General, Spanish Food and Drink

Spain is an ultimate tourist destination. It is Europe’s one of the most important country. Spain has been serving the tourists of the whole world for a period unknown. The greatness of this country lies in the fact that this country has been invaded by different invaders innumerable times but still it has restored its own culture and also the culture of those who came here. Spain has a lot to offer to the whole world especially when it comes to coastal areas. You will find the best of beaches and the best of sea food. However, the list of things which lures all the tourists to come to Spain is rather a long one, other than the beaches there are a lot of things to explore. The cuisines of Spain are known all over the world; people from distant places just came here sometimes to relish various local cuisines. The best part is that that all the cities have something different to offer. And its not only about the food, the wines out here also are something which cannot be missed. Seville is the city which is quiet popular for its food and wine.

The main cuisine of Seville is based on home cooking. The most common and the best dishes are the stuffed Artichokes, fried fish, flamenco eggs and sauté kidneys which are served with sherry. All the above mentioned dishes are main specialities of Malaga, Cadiz and Seville. The people of Seville are not that much into restaurants but then also there are a good number of restaurants in Seville which serve food of Spanish, Andalucian and international taste. The most common way of eating out here in this city is eating a chain of small cuisines; this is popularly known as “ir de tapeo”. This is mostly done amongst group of friends. There are a large number of dishes which you would like to savour and for that the best thing to do is to taste as many dishes you can in small portions.

In the summer the most common dishes are chopped pork, salads, Salmorejo and Gazpacho; these dishes are the best way of beating the heat. Among other dishes ham of Huelva and the fried fish and prawns of Sanlucar are very famous. All these dishes taste best when they are accompanied with the local wine for example the Manzanilla, sherry, Montilla and who can forget the golden beer. Almost all the cities of Seville have bars which also serve one of the best Tapas available. The bars are of different kinds, some are open air and some are located on terraces from where you can enjoy the flowing river. At some places you can buy fried fish from shops and enjoy.

Every meal must have a good end and for that matter Sevillian desserts are great. The cortadillos de cidra, the candied egg yolks, sponge cake, crumbles are some of the most known desserts. Home made sweets like the Ganotes, bread fitters and Pestinos are also amazing.
