The place

Costa del Sol is actually a region which is located in the south side of Spain. This place comprises of communities and of coastal towns that are beside the Mediterranean coastline. Historically, it is said that there were many fishing villages in Costa del Sol and there were white villages which ran its expanse to a little distance inland and the mountains too ran down the coast. However, this area was discovered and also developed further to meet the needs of international tourism in the fifties. Since then, Costa del Sol has become a popular destination amongst the foreign tourists for its amazing breath taking beaches and for its local culture too. Formerly, Costa del Sol was made up of many small, quiet fishing settlements and it totally transformed in the latter part of the twentieth century to a tourist destination.

Number of places that one can visit

Costa del Sol includes many cities which are Malaga, Benalmadena, Mijas, Puerto Banus and many such attractive places. Some of these places are the wealthiest of the towns in Costa del Sol. Marbella is one of the famous towns in Costa del Sol for its reputation of being a place to visit for the super rich and some famous visitors every year. Recent years experienced a lot of golf enthusiasts due to which Costa del Sol was also named as Costa Del Golf for specific reason. There were some high quality of golf courses and more than fifty of them in Marbella itself, for which Costa Del Golf name came into existence. This town attracted many golfers from all parts of the world including Europe. Costa del Sol in turn, became beneficial from the stimulation which golf provided and this gave way for a lot of tourism. This resulted to an increase in the development of new complexes to the accommodation facility for the golfers who visited the area.

Places to see

One can visit the Picasso museum which was inaugurated in 2003. The place, Malaga is one of the selected cities which have this museum. In this museum, one can find almost 200 collections of Christine Picasso and her excellent workings. There is also permanent collection made by her son Bernard which makes a detailed review of each and every phase of the huge Picasso output. These include some of the paintings and work from the artist in the basic stage to the final stage of paintings. There are also some master pieces of the twentieth century which summarizes few decisive lines of the life experiences of Bernard and his prodigious knowledge of plastic arts too. Such work has been followed through legacy and for generations to come.

These collections include drawings, paintings, ceramics, engravings and also some amazing sculptures. These works attract a lot of audiences because of their reproduction for countless times in magazines and books and also because they have certain magnetism which one can feel having a positive impact and influence on their mind.
