Gardening is becoming increasingly popular as a hobby and interest and in particular interest in food gardening is one of Britain’s fastest growing pastimes.

We all know that the classic Mediterranean diet, rich in local fruit, vegetables and salads keeps the Spanish living long and healthy lives. Camino Holidays offer a fabulous five day holiday (October 12-18) for anyone who would like to discover the world of Spanish organic food gardening.

Imagine the smells and sights of Spanish fruits and vegetables ripening in the sun, fruit trees loaded with oranges and lemons waiting to be picked and crushing fresh, fragrant Spanish herbs in your hands.

• Discover the secrets of Spanish food growing, how to grow traditional food in your own garden, and visit organic farms, smallholdings and plant nurseries.
• Dig in the warm Spanish earth with the sun on your back as you try your hand at organic food gardening, guided by the local gardeners and farmers.
• This holiday is based in Jerez de la Frontera, staying in a family run three star, eco-friendly hotel in the oldest part of this attractive town in Andalucia and from here you’ll travel all over the area.
•	Most meals are included in the holiday and you’ll be eating traditional and organic food grown in this area.
•	Holiday Prices: £530 (single room) £460 (per person, twin/double room)

Getting away from it all is an important part of our lifestyle maintenance and in these stressful cash crisis times, we need to be able to re-charge our batteries.

Did you make a New Year’s resolution to learn something new this year…? Why not indulge your passion for photography with Camino Holidays, a boutique travel firm that runs bespoke holidays in the beautiful Spanish region of South West Andalucia .

Trips can include a range of activities, and from April 2009 Camino Holidays will also be running photography holidays, taught by award winning photographer Simon Brown. Simon moved to Andalucia 14 years ago where he set up a business as a professional photographer. His work is varied and ranges from landscapes for the tourist board to interiors for local hotels and restaurants. Since being in Spain he has won five different awards for his images, the most recent being 2005 when the Regional Council awarded him first prize for a shot of Cape Trafalgar.
He has guided photographic workshops for 6 years and takes great satisfaction from the positive feedback he receives from clients “the best thing is seeing how their images improve as the week progresses and the smile it puts on their face when we do the feedback sessions”, he told us. The holidays will cover all aspects of photography and everyone will have the opportunity to cover a wide variety of subject matter at various times of day. The holidays will also include feedback sessions with Simon Brown.

Bespoke photography holidays are currently available during these upcoming, unique festivals.

Semana Santa April 9-13

Everyone should experience the Semana Santa of Andalucia at least once in their life – there is nothing like this in the world. These spectacular processions involve all the local people with a show of religious and community devotion.

Feria del Caballo May 10-14

The legendary horse fair of Jerez – the Feria del Caballo takes place on these dates. This is a week long party with hundreds of beautifully decorated marquees and countless horses, riders and carriages parading endlessly around the Feria ground in amazing costumes. At night the Feria becomes a fairyland of lights and carnival atmosphere and you can be there to photograph it all.

Times might be hard, but with Camino you set your own budget and let them do the rest. They specialise in activity holidays, using the traditional local activities of the area; cookery and gourmet breaks, sherry and brandy breaks, all action (kite surfing etc), riding, traditional crafts such as silver beating and blacksmithing, flamenco dance and flamenco guitar, relaxation breaks with treatments, guided tours of the churches and private gardens of this area and fantastic golf breaks.

Rosi Reed who runs Camino Holidays, said: “We are in the grip of a recession but there is no need for people to think they can’t afford a short break. Getting away from it all for a few days is great therapy and it doesn’t have to break the bank. Our lovely local guides take care of everything – you don’t have to do any driving and there’s no stress! Our holidays start from as little as £299 and are inclusive of everything apart from flights which can be booked very cheaply online with operators such as Ryanair.”

One holiday that Camino is running at the moment is A Taste of Andalucia. This is a short break of three days and two nights for just £299, and includes airport transfers, meals including tapas and cava on arrival, dinner and a show at a local Flamenco club, a huge choice of trips around the area from a guided wildflower walk in the Sierra to a guided tour of hidden Sevilla by bicycle to a boat safari to the unique biosphere reserve of El Coto Doñana.

Camino also offer family breaks, an Easter Relax and Rejuvenate break and a chance to stay in Jerez for one of the biggest festivals in Spain – The Feria Del Caballo in May.

Forget trying to book your own hotel during Feria week – if you don’t know someone you’re not going to get in anywhere! Camino have only a few rooms left for Feria week and are happy to help clients design the most memorable party holiday they’ll ever have.
